Nea Chora

Welcome to Nea Chora. The neighborhood has developed west of the Venetian Harbor, and the name means “New Town” in Greek because it was one of the first suburbs of the modern Chania city, that developed outside the Byzantine walls. Nea Chora is the closest beach to Chania Town, located west of the Venetian walls. It can be accessed by bus, by car, or on foot. Therefore, it is very close to the city and the shopping center. Nea Chora is a sandy beach with shallow waters suitable for children and is well-organized, offering sun beds, umbrellas, cafes and nice taverns serving delicious fresh fish dishes. In fact, Nea Chora is a popular beach among locals and tourists.
